The SIF is a small shop that offers a relaxed yet focused R&D work environment.
Operating from within the Physics Research Building, the SIF community promotes a collegial educational atmosphere with both the intellectual curiosity and benefits of a large university. We are constantly getting involved with new and different projects.
Work-Study
Now hiring students for Fall 2009! Work-study grants preferred, however all qualified candidates will be considered. This position could be exceptionally beneficial for an undergraduate ME major. For more information or to apply, contact Heitor Mourato at 617-353-5056 or mourato@bu.edu.
General shop/helper - Responsibilities include ordering materials and tools, organising drills and end mills, etc. Opportunities exist for training in use of CAD software for machine design, and for operation of some equipment, especially if one took the Student Training Center course.
